Specialist Orthodontic Services in Auckland

Diagnosis before devices. Treatment carefully matched to you.

Every smile is different—and the reason behind a bite, alignment or facial-balance concern matters.

At Parnell Orthodontics, Dr Adith Venugopal provides specialist orthodontic care for children, teenagers and adults, from straightforward tooth alignment through to complex adult, skeletal and interdisciplinary treatment.

Braces, clear aligners, expansion appliances and TADs are tools. The same appliance can be valuable for one patient and unnecessary for another.

Our role is to understand the problem first, explain the reasonable treatment pathways and their limitations, and then recommend the approach that best fits your teeth, roots, jaws, facial balance, oral health, lifestyle and goals.

The expertise lies in knowing when, why and how to use each option.

A Specialist Plan — Not an Appliance Package

At Parnell Orthodontics, treatment does not begin with a brand, bracket or device. It begins with a diagnosis.

For one patient, the most appropriate treatment may be clear aligners. For another, fixed braces may provide better control. A developing bite may benefit from carefully timed growth guidance or expansion, while a more complex adult problem may require TAD-assisted biomechanics, interdisciplinary planning or consideration of both non-surgical and surgical pathways.

We assess the reasonable options rather than trying to make every patient fit one preferred technique.

Dr Adith's clinical and academic work spans orthodontic biomechanics, TADs, gummy-smile diagnosis, skeletal discrepancies, bone-borne expansion, interdisciplinary care and digital planning. This depth is particularly valuable when the treatment decision itself is complex.

Simple when it can be. Advanced when it needs to be.

Always individually planned.

Clear Aligners

Invisalign® / Angel Aligner® Pro — custom designed 3D clear aligners

For suitable teenagers and adults, clear aligners can provide a discreet, removable way to correct selected alignment and bite problems. They are removed for meals and cleaning and must usually be worn for 20–22 hours each day.

Dr Adith plans each case from the diagnosis rather than the brand. A 3D digital scan supports treatment planning, while radiographs or CBCT are used only when clinically indicated. Before treatment begins, you will receive a clear explanation of the intended movements, limitations, responsibilities, expected duration and alternatives.

  • Digital scan—no conventional impressions for routine records.

  • Removable for eating and oral hygiene.

  • Suitability depends on the tooth movements, bite, roots, supporting tissues and likely wear compliance.

How We Diagnose, Plan & Price Your Treatment

01

Your Complimentary Specialist Consultation — 30 minutes

Your first consultation with Dr Adith is free and carries no obligation.

This visit is designed to understand your concerns and goals, assess your smile, teeth, bite and jaw relationships clinically, and determine whether orthodontic treatment may be appropriate.

Dr Adith can discuss the broad treatment pathways that may be relevant—such as braces, clear aligners, expansion or more advanced treatment—and explain whether further diagnostic investigation is worthwhile.

You do not need to commit to treatment, diagnostic records or any particular appliance at this appointment.

02

Comprehensive Diagnostic Records & Specialist Treatment Plan — $550 | approximately 60 minutes

If treatment appears suitable and you would like to understand your options properly before making a decision, the next step is comprehensive diagnostic records and specialist treatment planning.

Your $550 diagnostic and planning appointment may include:

  • diagnostic clinical photographs;

  • a complete 3D digital scan of the upper arch, lower arch and bite;

  • orthodontic panoramic imaging or Sirona AXEOS 3D CBCT where clinically indicated;

  • assessment of tooth and root positions, supporting bone, bite and jaw relationships;

  • detailed specialist analysis by Dr Adith;

  • consideration of appropriate treatment alternatives and their limitations;

  • expected treatment duration;

  • a written personalised treatment plan;

  • your treatment fee and available finance/payment options.

This is where a preliminary consultation becomes a properly diagnosed, individually designed treatment plan.

03

Understand Your Options Before You Decide

Once the diagnostic work is complete, Dr Adith explains what has been found and why a particular approach is being recommended.

Where more than one reasonable option exists, we discuss the trade-offs—including aesthetics, biomechanical control, cooperation required, treatment duration, limitations and cost.

Nothing proceeds until you understand your plan and feel comfortable with your decision.

Advanced Technology — Used With Purpose

Technology can provide extraordinary information, but it does not replace specialist judgement.

At Parnell Orthodontics, 3D digital scanning creates an accurate model of your teeth and bite without traditional impressions. Digital panoramic imaging and our Sirona AXEOS 3D CBCT system can provide further information about roots, bone and surrounding anatomy when the clinical question warrants three-dimensional imaging. Digital and AI-assisted tools can also support treatment analysis and planning.

The technology informs the diagnosis. Dr Adith makes the treatment decision with you, based on facts and evidence based reasoning to help you achieve your desired outcomes in the most predictable way possible.

When Your Case Needs More Than One Specialist

Some of the most successful adult treatment plans begin before restorative or surgical dentistry—not after it.

Where treatment involves periodontal care, implants, veneers, missing teeth, major restorative dentistry, oral surgery or orthognathic surgery, Dr Adith can coordinate the orthodontic phase with your dentist, prosthodontist, Maxillofacial surgeon, and other specialists - so that tooth position, spacing, roots, gum architecture and the final restorative goals are considered in the correct sequence.

The aim is not simply to make the teeth look straighter today, but to place them where the rest of your long-term dental plan needs them to be.

Not Sure Which Treatment You Need?

You do not need to know whether you need braces, aligners, expansion, TADs—or something else—before you come to see us.

That is what the diagnosis is for.

Book a complimentary 30-minute consultation with Dr Adith and start with a clear, honest specialist assessment of your concerns and possible next steps.

No cost. No obligation. No appliance sales pitch. Just specialist advice about what may be right for you.
